Purpose: Preliminary screening for a learning disability.

Clients are evaluated to establish a learning profile which includes the following:

  • Oral Language Ability
  • Written Language Ability
  • Visual and Phonological Processing
  • Screening for AD/HD may be recommended

Schedule

  • Approximately two hours of one-on-one, in-person testing.
  • 30-minute follow-up consultation (via call or Zoom) to review the report, including scores, interpretation, and recommendations.

Important Information

  • While this level of testing may indicate a profile of dyslexia, a formal diagnosis cannot be given without cognitive testing.
  • If a profile of dyslexia is evident from the Literacy Skills Evaluation, parents (or guardians/individuals over 18 years of age) may choose to continue with the Full Comprehensive Evaluation for a clinical diagnosis.
  • The cost of the Literacy Skills Evaluation will be applied toward the Full Comprehensive Evaluation and only the parts of the evaluation not administered in the Literacy Skills Evaluation will be given in the follow up appointment.
